Over the weekend of the 21. – 23. May 2010, 2nd Onchan’s Manannan Cubs took
part in a Camp in Ramsey. We all met at Ramsey Grammar School and once everyone had arrived we went on a walk up to the top of Albert Tower, once we made it to the top, we invested four new Cubs into the Pack. It was a short hike back to the Ramsey Scout Hall where hot chocolate was served, and then it was time for bed for everyone.
The next morning we went to Mooragh Park, before going to the Venture Centre for the day where we met the Snaefell Cubs, activities at the Venture Centre included Air Rifle Shooting, Archery, going on the Assault Course and then Raft Building in the afternoon, afterwards everyone had an ice-ream. It was then time to say goodbye to the Snaefell Cubs, the rest of the Cubs went to the beach and everyone went swimming in the sea, which was enjoyed by all the Cubs and even Akela went in the water for a splash around.
After this everyone walked back to the Scout Hall and got changed before hiking back to Mooragh Park for a game of football, for tea we went to the local chippy and then played Danish Longball, Kick the Bottle and several other games before making our way back to the Scout Hall for a movie.
The next morning we went kayaking on Mooragh Park and went on the Pedaloes & Row Boats, it was time for lunch before having another few games of Danish Longball before heading home. The weather was fantastic throughout the weekend and everyone had a really good time.
