Group Camp - Final Payment Due

The final payment for the Group Camp is due in by the 31. May 2008. Those going on the camp are asked to ensure payment is made by this date.

Final Details including Kit List, Medical Forms etc, will be going out mid June.

Kayak Training - Windy Experience

The Kayak Training Weekend held over the 24. - 25. May 2008, had an early finish on the Sunday due to hind winds. Fourteen Scouts from the Groups two Troops took part along with five Leaders and a couple of Explorer Scouts. On the Saturday afternoon after a briefing session about 1½ hours was spent on the water at Mooragh Park. In the evening everyone enjoyed a barbecue, followed by a bit of spectating during the first Practice Session of the 2008 TT Races. The evening was rounded off with a movie.

On Sunday morning the wind was very strong and after an inspection of the lake it was decided to cancel that days training. We are hoping to reschedule for Sunday 8. June 2008.

Snaefell Cubs Kayaking

Snaefell Cubs went Kayaking and played Crazy Golf at Onchan Park on the 15. May 2008.  The weather was great, all the Cubs and Leaders who took part really enjoyed themselves. Everyone got a bit wet due to the amount of splashing and only the one Cub Scout capsized.

Hike Camp Weekend

A Hike Camp Weekend is being organised for the Scouts from both Troops and the Explorer Scouts.

The Camp will run from 19:00 on Friday 11. July to 15:00 on Sunday 13. July 2008 and will be based at Peel. On the Saturday the Scouts and Explorer Scouts will spend the day hiking along one of the two long distance footpaths that start in Peel. Letters about the weekend will be going out in mid June.

Onchan Fair - Success

The Group made £146.00 at the Onchan Fair a couple of weeks ago. It's a shame that the fair was held inside the Community Centre rather than outside, as it was a glorious sunny day.

Onchan Commissioners are planning to hold a Fair at the Village Green on the 5. July, we will hopefully have a stand there (if parents wish to donate a bottle or jar for our stall, please drop them in to any Beaver, Cub or Scout Meeting).

Group Day Out - Letters Available

The Group Day out is taking place on the 15. June 2008. Letters can now be found on the Download Page of this Website (see left for link).

All members of the Group are invited to attend. Closing Date for returning the form and fee is the 30. May 2008.

Kayak Training Weekend - Full

All places have now been filled at the Scouts Kayak Training weekend over the 24. - 25. May 2008. It may be possible that we will hold another Kayak Training Weekend later on in the year.

Group Day Out - Date Change

The Group Day out planned for the 22. June 2008, has been changed to Sunday 15. June 2008. Letters will be available in the next few days from this Website and all Section Leaders.
