Mountain Bike Hike

Assistant Scout Leader Ben after falling off his bike. Sixteen Scouts, four Explorer Scouts, three Leaders and one parent took part in our annual Mountain Bike Hike from Douglas to Peel on Sunday 27. January 2008. The route follows the disused railway line, so keeps off the roads. Some Scouts cycled just to Peel, a distance of ten miles, while others went all the way from Douglas to Peel and then back to Douglas again, a distance of 20 miles.

A Happy and Active New Year to all members of 2nd Onchan.

Centenary Badges

Group Camp 2008

We still have a few places left on the Group Camp, which is open to Cubs, Scouts, Explorers and all Leaders. If you are interested in the camp, please ask for a leaflet.

Scout Hall Improvements
climbingwallIt is coming up to six years since the new hall was built and we are continuing to carry out some improvements to the Scout Hall. A new double bowl sink and new water heater has been fitted in the kitchen in the last couple of weeks. New ‘ball proof’ lighting is to be fitted in the main hall. The boys toilet is to be refurbished and the hall, kitchen, cloaks and toilet areas are all going to be decorated. All this work should be completed though the first half of 2008 and should cause minimum, if any disruption, to Section Meetings.

Hall for Hire
Don’t forget you can hire the Scout Hall for parties etc; at reasonable rates. Further details can be found on the Group Website.
