Scouts from the Moddey Dhoo Troop and the Phoenix Troop, together with members of the Onchan District Explorer Scouts are invited to take part in the Millennium Way Hike which is taking place over the weekend of the 22. - 23. March 2008. Further details of the hike can be found in the letter here.
The Millennium Way Hike forms one part of the Three Legs Challenge. You can find out more about the Three Legs Challenge on the Manx Scouts Website here.

St. George is the Patron Saint of Scouting. For the first time ever the Island Parade is taking place in Onchan, so a big turn out from 2nd Onchan will be expected.
The Woodland Trust have provided 30 free trees to the Phoenix Troop. They are a mixture of Rowan, Cherry and Crab Apple. Scouts carrying out their Community Challenge Award, spent an hour dividing the trees up re-wrapping them individually and labeling them. They were then given out to members of the Troop to plant in their own gardens.
Each year we have to carry out a Census of our membership and submit it to the Scout Association. Our numbers this year are:
36 Beaver Scouts.
56 Cub Scouts.
44 Scouts.
19 Warranted Leaders & 1 Sectional Assistant.
Total Group membership is 156.

* The years 2001 to 2003 included older Scouts and Venture Scouts, before the new programme came in. Older Scouts and Ventures were formed into an Explorer Unit, which is not part of the Group.
